Well, I broke down and got AVG, because a couple people said it works like a charm, so I'm trying it out.
The internet is still not working properly, although I was able to get a signal strong enough for a while in the living room.
Although I did discover that I get another decent signal in the weirdest place ever....

Yeah, if you didn't guess, it's the bathroom/powder room. I was walking all over the house trying to find some kind of signal just to make sure it was my computer and NOT the signal/network, and well, though I still think it is my computer, I DID get a decent signal in the damned bathroom.
I don't know about you, but I'm not going to sit in the bathtub and check my DA every day. For one, it's uncomfortable, and for two, my parents already think they have the weirdest daughter on the face of the planet XD

I still have a new network card on it's way, and my brother (who builds computers) is going to be nice and install it for me (since I refuse to send it into the computer company for them to do it in fear I might not get my computer back, OR it'll come back in worse shape than when it left.)
Hopefully with a new card, this computer won't have such an issue connecting to a network.

A couple people may be wondering what the big deal is if I use 'free' networks, after all, they ARE other people's networks.
Well, that's not the entire case here.
I have gone to coffee shops/cafes, and even with those official networks, this computer still drops those signals.

I bet you're tired of hearing about this damned laptop, but I'm just so damn confused as to how a brand-new computer could be such a pain the ass. It's barely 2 months old!

Anyway... I just thought to let you guys know it's not as bad as I thought. I can still get a signal, but it's in the bloody bathroom!

As for the virus I have...
No, it's NOT a virus from DA. It came with something else, and though I haven't installed anything on this computer in ages other than safe, certified software, the internet is swarming with various malicious programs/software that can get installed through going on certain websites, and the most painful thing is that 99% of the time, you don't know you have gotten the virus until it's too late.

*sigh*

It's a 'mild' threat, but it's still a virus, and I don't want anything like that, mild or not, on this computer. It was a gift, and I plan on not only taking care of it, but giving it a decently long life for as long as I can control it's fate.


On another note, I have taken a look at my most recent poll, and I see a few people have sited that yes they are sick of seeing the same thing over, and over again on the front page's ' popular ' section.
In truth this came more as a shock to me because I thought surely more people would just say they could care less.
I am planning to try and help other budding artists get a bit more recognition, whether it be through feature journals, or feature 'news' articles. I think there's people on here who deserve WAY more attention than they are getting, and I would like to help them in any way I can

Anyway.... I think I'm done babbling now.

Sorry for the lack of art, but I haven't had the time to do anything other than minor doodles and spam crap, which is all traditionally done, BUT! There is some good news! My grandfather got a new printer, and he called me up the other day to tell me that I got one with a scanner because he thought of me and my art
I thought that was sweet of him
The scanner/printer isn't hooked up yet, and it probably won't be for a week because both me AND my grandparents are rather busy these days, so neither of us can find the time to do it.
However, once it is up and running, hopefully I will be able to put up a few traditional works I have had done for a while now, so that people can see

Digital work is fun, but it's starting to get a bit boring for me. With nothing but a mouse to draw/color with, it takes way too much time to do a picture in Photoshop/MS paint.
Plus I missed traditional art, after all it is my roots.

There may not be any submissions from my for a while, but when I can find the time, or motivation to either scan in the traditional works, or draw something decent digitally, I'll get back into the race
